How-To-SAT: Meant for tackling the SAT as a JEE aspirant.

You tackled the learnings of one of the hardest entrance exams in the world. Rest assured, SAT is a piece of cake in front of that! Now you just need to ‘adapt’ to the new testing style and format of questions, the syllabus remains mostly the same aside from some extra stuff, which we’re going to patch up right now (yes, we’ll dive right into it!)

  1. Open KhanAcademy SAT Prep: https://www.khanacademy.org/digital-sat (Best exp on PC/Computer). Create a free account for the best experience.

  2. Take the English and Maths course challenge individually. To take it:

    1. Open the page by clicking one of the link. Bookmark it.
    2. Scroll down the sidebar and select “course challenge”
    3. Complete course challenge and take recommended courses (jump straight to the material if you want and then solve the unit quizzes, I’ll leave that to you).

Do this until you’re pretty good. And please master the whole syllabus! (unless you want a 1200, which… I know you don’t).

Now, time to touch the big leagues, my friend! (Not Ivy yet, but in context of testing!~)

KhanAcademy is pretty good for preliminary prep. It is the official source after all! The questions however are all over the place. Some extremely difficult, some extremely easy.

Let Collegeboard handle the rest. This is all you need, its free. Check out other resources down below. Please Read the whole guide! Also open it from time to time, you’ll be notified when its updated in a text field above.

      Click Find Questions —→ Select SAT in drop-down —> Select required topics, and on the questions screen please check [EXCLUDE ACTIVE QUESTIONS] to exclude those questions that are in practice tests and material.

      To open a question on that screen, press the hyperlinked question ID. You can see detailed explanations for them too. Rest is upto you to explore.

  2. Practice tests:

I. Create an account on [https://www.collegeboard.org]

ii. Download BlueBook Exams on your device (This is required for both prepping for and taking the SAT) [https://bluebook.collegeboard.org/students/download-bluebook] Please install it in a computer where you’ll be most familiar with taking to the exam hall. A Macbook (2020+) would be most preferred, because of its battery efficiency. Collegeboard says you can bring a travel adapter (a.k.a a charger) but they cannot guarantee a plug point.

iii. Take the test according to your need and after it finishes you can access your scores at [https://mypractice.collegeboard.org/]

iv. You can pause the practice tests in between by clicking the three dots during the test, and save and exit. You can access it later within two days. Note this is not possible in the actual examination.

About BlueBook:

BlueBook contains 8 practice tests, from 4 to 11. Tests 5 onwards previously administered tests, so a jump in difficulty from 4 to 5 is expected. Practice test 6 is known as the most accurate (general consensus of reddit people)

BlueBook is the app where the official exam will also be taken. Use a laptop for the best experience. On test day, you’ll be required to take it with you. If you don’t have a laptop/tablet, you can request CollegeBoard for a device for testing.
